Any know any mascaras that can plump up eyelashes? preferably reasonable priced ones? thanks. What is the best lash thickening mascara?
I have tried pretty much every mascara out there (cheap and expensive) and Diorshow has worked best for me.

number 2, I'd have to go with Benefit's bad gal lash

and number 3, Fresh Supernova

number 4 is suprisingly Revlon's 3d extreme, from drugstores.

vaseline might look like it plumps your eyelashes temporarily, but why risk getting your eye infected?

the same thing can be accomplished by proper mascara application. What is the best lash thickening mascara?
well, i LOVED Diorshow, but that is pretty pricey. so i suggest Max Factor Calorie 2000. it is very good!
If you are looking for something not too expensive (maybe $7) use Max Factor.
benefit bad gal lashes reasonably priced considering it lasts a long time
put vaseline on your eyelashes before you apply mascara to add thickness and avoid clumping. MAC plush lash and benefit bad girl lash are really good.
lashblast works pretty well and so does maybellene XXL
L'Oreal Volume Shocking makes the lashes look really thick. It's a two step mascara, a primer and the actual mascara. I love it makes it look like fake lashes and a dramatic look. It takes a while to dry though..its about 9 dollars.Uedaohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11278861954014357781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-788135256790835443.post-30457229305178849642010-06-23T20:16:00.002-07:002010-06-23T20:16:37.804-07:00How long should I keep my mascara?I've been told that I should only keep mascara for three months. Is that true, or can I keep my mascara longer? Cause some of the mascara I have are from last year, and they're not finished yet, but I don't really find that they're clumpy and they don't give me infections. Plus, I can't possibly finish my mascara in such a short time - I have like seven bottles and I choose different ones each day.

And is it the same for eyeshadow/eyeliner? How long should I keep my mascara?
Not true at all!

Mascara has the shortest life of all cosmetics, I'd say 6 weeks MAX!

To heighten the length of the life of your mascara, store it in the fridge while you don't use it.

Eyeliner, it depends on the type. If it's a pencil, usually when you're done, it's done. Liquid is like mascara, so I wouldn't keep it for over 6 weeks. Eyeshadow generally lasts much longer, but I presume you use brushes to apply it. Those should be washed every two weeks - and that should keep your eyeshadow from being contaminated and lasting longer.

Cheers. How long should I keep my mascara?
three months max. there are mites living on your lashes that you can't see, they're microscopic. once you apply mascara the mites and bacteria transfer on to your mascara brush. over time the mites and bacteria will breed in the mascara tube because they love damp and dark places.. and if you put on that mite and bacteria filled mascara onto your eye, you'll get an infection.
You can keep it up to six months. I would suggest sticking to one kind and using it everyday until its out this way you want have to worry about getting an eye infection. Also smell your mascara if it has an odd odor coming from it then you really need to throw it out because that means bacteria has started growing in the tube. Hope this helps.
I just use my mascara untill it runs out or gets clumpy and never have had any problems with infections etc. I really don't think eyeshadow or eyeliners have specific dates to be used by because i've had some of my eyeshadow and eyeliners for more than 2 years and i still occasionally use them with no problems
Every time you put that mascara back into the tube you are pumping in and pulling out bacteria that can cause an eye infection. Do not use mascara from last year. You have a little more leeway with eyeshadow as it doesn't actually go near the opening of your eye.
3 months, if your eyes aren't to senstive you could use it for longer but sometimes it can irritate your eyes. Or get clumpy.

For eyeliner and eyeshadow I mean you dont have to but I would just because bacteria can go in so mostly just for hygen
You should keep it for three to four months.

Even though you can't see it, over time, bacteria builds up in your mascara. It may not cause an infection right away, but it can in the long run, and using old mascara can ruin your eyelashes.
i have herd that too except i usually keep my mascara a little longer usually about 5 months. Never a year though. I know one of my friends kept hers for a year and a half and she got an infection from it.
mascara: 3 months

foundation: 6 months

eyeliner: one year

lipgloss: 1 year
get some new mascara after three months. Still wair it but in three months get new mascara bye

2 seconds

3 months is the maximum time for mascaras

after 3 months then you should replace them
Uedaohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11278861954014357781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-788135256790835443.post-50764108662980721402010-06-23T20:16:00.001-07:002010-06-23T20:16:23.751-07:00How can I prevent a smeary mascara application? When I apply mascara with a regular mascara wand, it tends to smear all up into my eyelid. I am a girl who applies mascara with a mirror held below my eyes with my head tilted back and my mouth open. I have average length eyelashes, and I use black mascara. It seems like my eyelashes are getting brushed onto my eyelids when I apply mascara. I would like to find a technique to prevent a smeary mascara application without having to switch to a different mascara. Thanks for your help!!How can I prevent a smeary mascara application?
apply from the top, not bottom, it won't push your eyelashes up, and also don't put the mirror so low, it makes your eyelashes seem longer so the wand might be touching your eyelid, OR if your mascara doesnt dry fast you might want to try closing your eyes for a few seconds to let it dryHow can I prevent a smeary mascara application?
Look up slightly so your lids are closed a bit. Going from the lash line to the tips of your lashes, wiggle the brush to avoid clumps and smears. You can also just use a bit of tissue to cover the areas that are getting smeared.
Use a credit card [or something similar sized] and hold it above your lashes against your eyelid when you apply your mascara, that really helps a whole lot... there are some eye tools sold in japanese beauty stores that do the same thing... sheild your eyes..it's caled ';eyelash guard';.
Wait till it dries but whtatever you do, don`t buy waterproof mascara! It makes your lashes fall off.

Don`t blink very hard in the day. I am a newbie to the cosmetics world so please help me if you can.How should I apply my mascara and or eyeliner to prevent smudging?
Free beauty tips on Makeup /cosmetic tricks

Hairstyles %26amp; photo gallery/ /hair highlighting /Weightloss /Hairremoval/ etc...

http://geebal.blogspot.comHow should I apply my mascara and or eyeliner to prevent smudging?
the waterproof eyeliners you need to get are from mac, lancome, or chanel. the best waterproof mascara that will not smugde is loreal voluminous water proof.
really the only way if it's smudging if you're rubbing your eyes, or your crying or your eyes are watering. what i do if you're gonna wear mascara and eyeliner is to apply your eyeliner first.. just to a thin layer right on the lid and just go back and forth until the lid is covered. then what you do with the mascara is do the top, and then do the bottom.. i would wait a minute or two in between.
Use MAC or Bobbi Brown gel eyeliners in pots. They are awesome! They just don't smudge but you will need to invest in a nice brush. I like a small flat angled brush.

For Mascara, please use your Shu Uemura or Shiseido curler and keep those lashes up off your upper cheeks. This works great for me and I rub the heck out of my eyes.
well don't touch your makeup becuase it sounds like your rubbing your eyes. but if that is not the case then you should try not putting on so much and also if that does not work sometimes i just carry some q-tips with me and when it starts to smuch take the q-tip and run it along the bottom of your eyes. that way you can take all of smugde off.
well,u shouldn't apply too much mascara,or it ur make up is ruined.be4 u apply,u might use a special comb for eyelashes-i have one and it's great.my mascara stays perfect for much more than 6 hours.and don't forget that you shouldn't put mascara if ur going to cry(for e.x. if ur going to a wedding or a funeral) or ur eyes will look blue, black or watever colour ur mascara is!
there is this mabelline unstoppable mascara which i think is worth trying. not really pricy too.
i've never had a problem with smudged mascara, but i have seen it done. i suggest keeping the brush moving away from the face, then use the eyelash curler to curl it, and clean up any mess. for eyeliner, use liquid eyeliner. it stays put, once it dries. the hardest part is putting it on and not touching it or opening your eyes too much for a minute or two. if you do, it will smuge and get all over the place and you'll have to start over.
Dont apply the mascara too thick, as for eyeliner, what i do is i use an eyeliner brush (bought at walmart 2.99) dip it in water then brown eyeshadow and sweep it under the lower lash line and and above the upper. It makes a softer line that doesnt look so harsh, perfect for that smokey eye look!Uedaohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11278861954014357781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-788135256790835443.post-90461760756525109812010-06-23T20:14:00.001-07:002010-06-23T20:14:17.836-07:00Is it trashy to wear mascara on your bottom lashes?I like how it looks either alone or with eyeliner, but I heard someone on here say to never wear mascara on your bottom lashes or you look trashy. Is this true? Also, I've been wearing eyeliner every day for about a year. Would it add the same amount of drama if I stopped wearing eyeliner and just started wearing mascara on the bottom lashes? Is it trashy to wear mascara on your bottom lashes?
Whoever told you that is full of crap.

Putting mascara only on the top lashes opens your eye up, while putting it TASTEFULLY on the bottom lashes give you a more ';doll'; look.

Yes, it looks trashy if you pile it on and it looks really chunky, but from what I've read, it doesn't sound like you do that.

It depends if you've been wearing eyeliner on your bottom lashes or it only lines your eye lid on top. If it only lines your eyelids on top, then it would be safe to say that if you gradually wound down the amount of eyeliner you put on, and then just used eyeliner.

Good luck %26amp; I hope this helped. Is it trashy to wear mascara on your bottom lashes?
No, but if you do it wrong you'll get less of a doll-look and more of a ohmygosh-I-accidentally-put-way-too-much… look. Use it sparingly. Too little is better than too much.

And to your second question, yes, it probably would. Many girls overuse eyeliner to make their eyes stand out but dark eyeliner actually makes eyes look smaller. For added drama, use a lash curler.

Good luck!
it's not trashy unless you overdo it. i've read both opinions. i think you should try it out and see what works best for you.
GOOD QUESTION! ok well, it dep. on what type of mascara u use and how much you use of it. if your going to put bottom lashes than you need to wear some sort of eye- shadow underneath it. it doesnt have to be too much, but minimum, so that you dont look like some sort of Betty Boop. umm.. it also dep. on the occasion, and wear your going everyday to a casual place then no. also, it dep. on how big you eyelashes are.umm, just where minimum eyeliner if your putting on bottom lashes, or none at all, with a nice neutral, or whatever eyeshadow. or just eyeliner, and no bottom lash mascara.
It's not trashy...trust me. If it was, my mother wouldn't do it at the age of 45. lol. I do it, she does it, everyone I know does it. I also wear eyeliner a lot too. Don't worry.
Of course it's not trashy. What a ridiculous notion your friend has! You can wear eyeliner and mascara both above and below the eye. Be careful not to wear too much black eyeliner if you're wearing black mascara. Wear different color eyeliner depending on what your eye color is: Use slate, blue, grey and plum eye shadows for brown eyes; pink, salmon, mauve and brownish pink for green eyes; and brown, camel and taupe shades for blue eyes.
Wearing mascara on your bottom lashes is NOT trashy. Seriously. However, you have to be careful with the eyeliner. Here is what to do. Wear eyeliner on the top... then on the bottom.. just line the outside half of your eye with eyeliner. (Very lightly) Then do two coats of mascara on top and bottom. That should be good. Good Luck
no not at all.....just dont put too much!!!
YUPP!! u can get away with a little eyeliner on the bottom and everythin but mascara looks like white trash very much so on the bottom lashes. when u put it on the top lashes and blink a couple times it goes on the bottom alittle anyways and looks fine. =]
no its not trashy at all
I've tried wearing mascara on my bottom lashes and it looks hideous. Maybe on models it would look better because they use heavy stage makeup and so light in color that it covers fully dark circles and any sign of starts of dark circles. But for normal everyday wear for a young person it looks bad, looks like a hooker. Even eyeliner on the bottom lashes is too much for a young person, it gives you raccoon eyes. It's like all you see is a set of raccoon dark eyes coming at you instead of a pretty face.
That's not trashy - people only do that when their personality and lifestyle isn't much about makeup, that's all

Drama comes from more coats of mascara, so add coats, make sure you do four
It's not really trashy. It's more the way a person wears it.
But I haven't got any lashes on my bottom
It depends on how much you put on. Too much and you look trashy and gross.

I would either wear eye liner and mascara only on the bottom lashes or top lashes. I think too much eye makeup is like wearing 4 pairs of socks- just too much!
I do not wear makeup on a daily basis, but when i do wear eye makeup I wear eyeliner and I use mascara on both bottom and top lashes but I make sure there is no clumps. i don't think it looks trashy I just think it enhances your eyelashes.
I don't think so. I think it looks weird to wear it just on top and not the bottom too.
it's no trashy just tacky looking i think you should do eye-liner intead
Heck, no! Lash 'em up!
It is not trashy....I have never heard that before. As long as you don't over-do it...whichever combo you like will look great!
Trashy? No.
lol i wear it top and bottom.. it makes my eyes stand out more.. and when its on the bottom i usually dont have to wear eye liner really bc it already stands out.. i've heard you are not suppose to.. not for any reason i dont think that could harm you just because it was made for the top but w.e i use it for the bottom to lol
no I don't think it is just don't use too much.
no, I dont wear it 'cause i have long eyelashes, so i dont need my bottom ones done.
noo its deff NOT trashy

and no i dnt think it would look as dramatic if you just put mascara on and no eyeliner
Its not trashy at all!!!

I do it and its looks perfect

Just make sure you dont OVER do it

But im sure you dont :-)
No, on some people though it makes their eyes look smaller. Get those pesky mascara stains out using a few simple solutions to pre-treat the stain. Even if it's already washed in, the mascara stain can still be removed.

Step 1-Put a small amount of dry-cleaning solution on a sponge, and gently dab at the stain to lift it from the material.

Step 2-Mix a 1 tsp. mild laundry detergent with 1 cup of warm water. Put on sponge and blot mascara stain with solution. Use a second sponge with water only to blot after, and repeat the steps until the stain has lifted.

Step 3-Use rubbing alcohol on a sponge, and blot the stain until it lifts. Rinse the sponge with water, and blot with the water filled sponge to rinse thoroughly.

Step 4-Make a solution with 1 tbsp. ammonia and 1/2 cup water. Blot this solution on the stain, and rinse with water. Repeat several times to remove the mascara.
Most make-up requires some thorough attention to remove. Mascara contains charcoal...weird huh! Use pre-wash solution to remove the mascara (You can find the solution at walmart, krogers, etc). Spray on the sheets agitate and leave them alone! After the pre-wash has worked wash the sheets in HOT water. The stains should be gone. If not, you can bleach if the sheets are white or purchase some commercial grade make-up remover.
Try Goo-Gone! It's the greatest thing and gets out the hardest of stains.

You can buy it at WalMart kind of places or your grocery store, usually.
Tr褔 washing sheets with White vinger i tr褔ed it and it worked xUedaohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11278861954014357781noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-788135256790835443.post-8985687078218788972010-06-23T20:13:00.000-07:002010-06-23T20:13:14.643-07:00How can I stop my mascara from smudging underneath my eyes?My mascara always smudges underneath my eyes and it looks really awful. How can I prevent this?By the way,I don't squint or rub my eyes a lot.And I'm currently using Lancome mascara.Should I try a different brand? How can I stop my mascara from smudging underneath my eyes?
I have this same problem. I like the Lush mascara from Paula's Choice because it doesn't smudge at all, but it's only available online. I've tried Lancome and Dior mascaras and they both tend to smudge on me. Recently I bought Urban Decay's Lingerie and Galoshes For Lashes. The Lingerie side is a primer but I don't think it does much. The Galoshes side is a waterproofer so you can make your favorite mascara waterproof. This stuff is pretty amazing. I wore mascara that completely disappears when I cry, and I put this over it and ended up crying that night (can't remember why, but anyway) and my mascara stayed put. Also the Unstoppable mascara from Maybelline is good, totally stays put (no smudging or running even when crying) but it isn't waterproof so it removes easily with a gel cleanser. How can I stop my mascara from smudging underneath my eyes?
Thats a great question lol!!

I havnt got an answer unfortunately cos it happens to me aswell!!

If i find out I'll let you know!!!

xoxo
yeah i think trying a different brand will help. or maybe your putting to much idk. but us should try something new.
Make sure you get it in waterproof...Uedaohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11278861954014357781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-788135256790835443.post-51972925787672153842010-06-23T20:12:00.003-07:002010-06-23T20:12:58.342-07:00Do you think wearing a mascara without any make up or eyeliner is sexy?I'm not talking about fake lashes, but natural lashes and no no no make up. I've heard using a lil oil is better tho.
I have used baby oil before, but be very careful to only use a drop or two!! It is absolutely amazing how far a drop can go with mascara! Thanks in advance! How do you clean your mascara brushes?
Like someone previously said, you shouldn't have to clean it if you don't share it and change your mascara every few months. However if you find that it has gotten cloggy or something like that you can run it under warm to hot water which will clean it out. Remember when pulling you mascara brush out of the tube to twist it as you pull it out and also when you want to put more mascara on the brush, put the brush in the tube and twist a couple of times. Pulling the brush straight in and out can not only wreck your brush but also dry out your mascara and also make it cluggy. How do you clean your mascara brushes?
if you don't share your mascara and throw away the tube every 3-4 months, you shouldnt need to clean your brush.
i haven't heard that one should clean her mascara. u should throw away your mascara every six months. if u find clumps on the mascara, u can remove them by pressing it against a tissue.
I would clean mine with soap and warm water.
dish soap and COLD water. hot water will make the brush frizzy and you know what that could do!
i agree once the mascra turns dry and REALLY clumby throw it away it not tthe brush that goes bad its the product.
do not wash your mascara brushes! you might get an infection. also replace your mascare about every third month.
You can use a gentle oil that will not irritate your eyes or mascara remover but you will need to use a lent free cloth or paper towel to get all of the oil off of your brush.
Wow in truth and in fact u shouldn't have ur mascara that long to have a need to wash the brush unused make up should be discarded after three months tops. you must remember your eye area is very delicate so if the brush fell on the ground or n the bathroom ewwwwww.... for instance, spare yourself a zit on the eye that looked like u had a tossle with a bee! just throw it away.
run under waterUedaohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11278861954014357781noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-788135256790835443.post-27787599903379856962010-06-23T20:12:00.000-07:002010-06-23T20:12:11.163-07:00What is the best thickening mascara that does not flake? The reviews I have read on various websites were conflicting. That i can get off without having to rip out my eyelashes.?Im a lifeguard and i also teach lessons. I wear waterproof mascara but after work i can't get it off. I know you can use baby oil but thats just annoying. Is there mascara that isn't so harsh that i can get it off with soap and water? What is a good waterproof mascara? That i can get off without having to rip out my eyelashes.?
Soap and water is not strong enough for removing waterproof. You are doing too major no-no's for your eyelashes! What you are doing will lead to eyelash loss, or really short, beat up lashes. If you must wear waterproof, which it sounds like, (waterproof is very bad, very drying for the lashes), Bourjois makes a very nice one. I would recommend spending the $6 and picking up Almay's liquid eye makeup remover in the blue bottle (for waterproof). You will be doing yourself and your lashes a favor. Keep on savin lives! :)What is a good waterproof mascara?
