What is the correct way to remove mascara/eyeliner?

I use these cotton wool pads, and some eye makeup remover cream, but the problem is, my eyelashes come out in the process! It's really annoying, I lose probably five strands of eyelashes each day (my eyelashes are very long). What's the best way to remove mascara safely? What is the correct way to remove mascara/eyeliner?
Instead of using a cream try something more liquid based.

I use Clinique, Take the Day Off, it comes in a purple bottle.

And cotton pads are better then cotton balls as well.

But the product that I suggested works very well, and I promise none of your eyelashes will come off.

If you don't want to try that here are some other good suggestions/products that I've used before:

Ponds Clean Sweep Cleansing and Make-Up Remover Towellettes.

These even come in travel packs! Plus, they work very well and you can use them right out of the pack! You don't need to add any water!

This is also probably the cheapest product, you can find it at places like Target and Wal-Mart for as low as $4!

Clinique Naturally Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover

This comes in a small green tube.

This works like a facial cleanser but it's safe to wipe over your eyes.

The great thing about this is that you can use it to get rid of any other make-up you might be wearing.

Just be careful that none of it actually gets in your eyes!

Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Make-Up Remover

The great thing about this is that it works like the first product I suggested, but it doesn't leave an trace of an oily residue.

It comes in a blue bottle.

This is also pretty cheap.

A 5 oz. bottle is about $8.

While the Clinique stuff is pretty pricey.

But it works pretty well.

So like I said you may want to stay away from creams and things like Vaseline, because although they are effective, they will also easily remove your eyelashes.

Hope this helps.

And that you'll try some of these products!

:DWhat is the correct way to remove mascara/eyeliner?
Don't use waterproof Mascara and use make up wipes. I use Simple cleansing facial wipes that remove make up, they are really good and Simple products don't harm your skin because they don't use unessecary or harsh chemicals and they also refresh and tone your skin. They remove waterproof mascara too, it's just waterproof is always harder to get off.
First rinse your face w warm water to open your pores the use a bar of makeup removing hypo allergenic bar of soap and scrub your face w your fingertips then rinse w warm water again and then w cold. Dry your face then get a cotton swab lick it and rub under your eyes until the black is gone.
THE BEST WAY: Buy Pond's Cold Cream, and tissue your eye make up off. I will not use anything else. It is so gentle and gets it all off. Once you start using this, you'll never use anything else! Everything else sucks and is too harsh!
well if you want to keep your eyelashes, avoid wearing waterproof mascara, and try not to rub to hard when you are removing your eye makeup. Try natural makeup remover.. that should help :)

good luck
Personally i think the best way is wipes my favourite are johnsons make-up remover cleansing wipes they are really good and they don't take your eyelashes out

xx
I wear a ton of waterproof mascara and I take either neutregena or clinique and put it on my hands and gently rub all my make up off.
well if you have really long eyelashes, you don't need mascara so you wont have that problem anymore!!
same ere ive got extra long lashes n half of them fall out wen im taking my mascara of ill see wat other people wrote on this question!
i just use face wipes but still loose eyelashes :(
everyone has their own way, plain old soap and water works dandy for me:)
