well, i LOVED Diorshow, but that is pretty pricey. so i suggest Max Factor Calorie 2000. it is very good!
If you are looking for something not too expensive (maybe $7) use Max Factor.
benefit bad gal lashes reasonably priced considering it lasts a long time
put vaseline on your eyelashes before you apply mascara to add thickness and avoid clumping. MAC plush lash and benefit bad girl lash are really good.
lashblast works pretty well and so does maybellene XXL
L'Oreal Volume Shocking makes the lashes look really thick. It's a two step mascara, a primer and the actual mascara. I love it makes it look like fake lashes and a dramatic look. It takes a while to dry though..its about 9 dollars.

How long should I keep my mascara?
I've been told that I should only keep mascara for three months. Is that true, or can I keep my mascara longer? Cause some of the mascara I have are from last year, and they're not finished yet, but I don't really find that they're clumpy and they don't give me infections. Plus, I can't possibly finish my mascara in such a short time - I have like seven bottles and I choose different ones each day.
And is it the same for eyeshadow/eyeliner? How long should I keep my mascara?

How can I prevent a smeary mascara application?
When I apply mascara with a regular mascara wand, it tends to smear all up into my eyelid. I am a girl who applies mascara with a mirror held below my eyes with my head tilted back and my mouth open. Is there anything I can do to make mascara last longer in the tube? When it starts to get to the end, it starts getting drier, clumpy, hard to apply evenly... of course running the tube under hot water helps tremendously, but then you're just worse off the next time you go to use it if you don't use the hot-water technique again. Can I add a couple drops of something in the tube itself? Will adding water to it and shaking vigorously just make it worse? Any tips?

the waterproof eyeliners you need to get are from mac, lancome, or chanel. the best waterproof mascara that will not smugde is loreal voluminous water proof.
really the only way if it's smudging if you're rubbing your eyes, or your crying or your eyes are watering. what i do if you're gonna wear mascara and eyeliner is to apply your eyeliner first.. just to a thin layer right on the lid and just go back and forth until the lid is covered. then what you do with the mascara is do the top, and then do the bottom.. i would wait a minute or two in between.
Use MAC or Bobbi Brown gel eyeliners in pots. They are awesome! They just don't smudge but you will need to invest in a nice brush. I like a small flat angled brush.
For Mascara, please use your Shu Uemura or Shiseido curler and keep those lashes up off your upper cheeks. This works great for me and I rub the heck out of my eyes.

I like how it looks either alone or with eyeliner, but I heard someone on here say to never wear mascara on your bottom lashes or you look trashy. Is this true? Whoever told you that is full of crap.
Putting mascara only on the top lashes opens your eye up, while putting it TASTEFULLY on the bottom lashes give you a more ';doll'; look.
Yes, it looks trashy if you pile it on and it looks really chunky, but from what I've read, it doesn't sound like you do that.
It depends if you've been wearing eyeliner on your bottom lashes or it only lines your eye lid on top. If it only lines your eyelids on top, then it would be safe to say that if you gradually wound down the amount of eyeliner you put on, and then just used eyeliner.

No, but if you do it wrong you'll get less of a doll-look and more of a ohmygosh-I-accidentally-put-way-too-much… look. Use it sparingly. Too little is better than too much.
And to your second question, yes, it probably would. Many girls overuse eyeliner to make their eyes stand out but dark eyeliner actually makes eyes look smaller. For added drama, use a lash curler.

GOOD QUESTION! ok well, it dep. on what type of mascara u use and how much you use of it. if your going to put bottom lashes than you need to wear some sort of eye- shadow underneath it. it doesnt have to be too much, but minimum, so that you dont look like some sort of Betty Boop. umm.. it also dep. on the occasion, and wear your going everyday to a casual place then no. also, it dep. on how big you eyelashes are.umm, just where minimum eyeliner if your putting on bottom lashes, or none at all, with a nice neutral, or whatever eyeshadow. or just eyeliner, and no bottom lash mascara.

Wearing mascara on your bottom lashes is NOT trashy. Seriously. However, you have to be careful with the eyeliner. Here is what to do. Wear eyeliner on the top... then on the bottom.. just line the outside half of your eye with eyeliner. (Very lightly) Then do two coats of mascara on top and bottom. That should be good. Good Luck

It's like all you see is a set of raccoon dark eyes coming at you instead of a pretty face.

Putting mascara only on the top lashes opens your eye up, while putting it TASTEFULLY on the bottom lashes give you a more ';doll'; look.
Yes, it looks trashy if you pile it on and it looks really chunky, but from what I've read, it doesn't sound like you do that.
It depends if you've been wearing eyeliner on your bottom lashes or it only lines your eye lid on top. If it only lines your eyelids on top, then it would be safe to say that if you gradually wound down the amount of eyeliner you put on, and then just used eyeliner.

No, but if you do it wrong you'll get less of a doll-look and more of a ohmygosh-I-accidentally-put-way-too-much… look. Use it sparingly. Too little is better than too much.
And to your second question, yes, it probably would. Many girls overuse eyeliner to make their eyes stand out but dark eyeliner actually makes eyes look smaller. For added drama, use a lash curler.

GOOD QUESTION! ok well, it dep. on what type of mascara u use and how much you use of it. if your going to put bottom lashes than you need to wear some sort of eye- shadow underneath it. it doesnt have to be too much, but minimum, so that you dont look like some sort of Betty Boop. umm.. it also dep. on the occasion, and wear your going everyday to a casual place then no. also, it dep. on how big you eyelashes are.umm, just where minimum eyeliner if your putting on bottom lashes, or none at all, with a nice neutral, or whatever eyeshadow. or just eyeliner, and no bottom lash mascara.

When your mascara doesn't stay on your eyes, but instead finds its way to your favorite shirt, pillowcase or sheets, there is a solution. Get those pesky mascara stains out using a few simple solutions to pre-treat the stain. Even if it's already washed in, the mascara stain can still be removed.
Step 1-Put a small amount of dry-cleaning solution on a sponge, and gently dab at the stain to lift it from the material.
Step 2-Mix a 1 tsp. mild laundry detergent with 1 cup of warm water. Put on sponge and blot mascara stain with solution. Use a second sponge with water only to blot after, and repeat the steps until the stain has lifted.
Step 3-Use rubbing alcohol on a sponge, and blot the stain until it lifts. Rinse the sponge with water, and blot with the water filled sponge to rinse thoroughly.
Step 4-Make a solution with 1 tbsp. ammonia and 1/2 cup water. Blot this solution on the stain, and rinse with water. Repeat several times to remove the mascara.
Most make-up requires some thorough attention to remove. Mascara contains charcoal...weird huh! Use pre-wash solution to remove the mascara (You can find the solution at walmart, krogers, etc). Spray on the sheets agitate and leave them alone! After the pre-wash has worked wash the sheets in HOT water. The stains should be gone. If not, you can bleach if the sheets are white or purchase some commercial grade make-up remover.
Try Goo-Gone! It's the greatest thing and gets out the hardest of stains.

I wore mascara that completely disappears when I cry, and I put this over it and ended up crying that night (can't remember why, but anyway) and my mascara stayed put. i wouldnt do water or baby oil it just makes it runnier. try just wiping it with a tissue every time you use it or maybe just try to get a new thing w/ really thing full brushes the never get thick.
I usually just put a drop or two of warm water, which is probably a no no, but it works for me. I've heard using a lil oil is better tho.
I have used baby oil before, but be very careful to only use a drop or two!! It is absolutely amazing how far a drop can go with mascara! Just drop a drop of oil on your wand and run the wand through the tube a few times until you get the right consistency. Annie

I hope you still have the receipt because you need to take it back to where you purchased it. DO NOT add water or oil to it. Its really thick because the mascara is old. It has probably been sitting on the store shelf for a while. Take it back and exchange it or get a refund.
try wiping the applicator on some tissue to get some of that excess mascara off i have to do that,oh you can also get a eyelash comb they work really good,put your mascara on and them comb through your eyelashes....warning do not put baby oil in your mascara it will ruin the whole thing and you'll have to spend money buying a new one
My brother recently filled my mascara container up with water, when I poured it out it was amazing. So easy to put on, wasn't runny, and wasn't clumpy.

dish soap and COLD water. hot water will make the brush frizzy and you know what that could do!
i agree once the mascra turns dry and REALLY clumby throw it away it not tthe brush that goes bad its the product.
do not wash your mascara brushes! you might get an infection. also replace your mascare about every third month.
You can use a gentle oil that will not irritate your eyes or mascara remover but you will need to use a lent free cloth or paper towel to get all of the oil off of your brush.
Wow in truth and in fact u shouldn't have ur mascara that long to have a need to wash the brush unused make up should be discarded after three months tops. you must remember your eye area is very delicate so if the brush fell on the ground or n the bathroom ewwwwww.... for instance, spare yourself a zit on the eye that looked like u had a tossle with a bee! just throw it away.

there are eye makeup removers out there that arent made of mineral oil....try one of those....you can get them at walgreens or cvs pharmacy

Alternatively, dip the very end of a Q-tip in eye makeup remover, soak up the excess onto a tissue, and gently brush your lashes the way you'd put on mascara, but be very careful not to get it into your eyes. Worked for me before I got revlon.

1. Brown is perfect for green eyes try COFFEE eye pencil by MAC.
2. LANCOME is the pioneer of all mascaras and I really can`t tell you what kind is good for you but they have brown and they have all sorts of mascaras, so be sure that you`ll find what you need at their counter.
So the brown stuff is for everyday.
Purples and Violets are fantabulous for an evening look and ofcourse they`ll make your eyes pop.
Cobalt royal Blue (that has absolutely nothing to do with green) will bring the green in your eyes like no other colour but only for a fantsy high fashion look.
Golden Browns, and Bronzes are fantastic for a summer look after you`ve tanned.
Avoid any Green eye make up, matching distracts and no one will be able to see your green eyes, because they`ll blend they won`t stand out.
Wearing a Green top aor an outfit is perfect but this rule doesn`t apply for the eye make up.
Last but not least ofcourse Black is too harsh, I`m just glad that you`ve noticed this, because the majority of people don`t.

Theres brown eyeliner, but if you want to go drastic, you could try a dramatic color. Green eyeliner might look good, you would just have to try it. But if you play on the green, there are a lot of make up brands that have it just for that. almay has an eyeshadow palet meant for green eyes, and it has a purplish brown color, a lighter brown color, and a light biege color. It even shows you how to aply them onto your eyes. good luck with finding the colors you want!

red is green's complimentary color, so anything with red in it will really make the green pop.
coppers and purples are usually good.

ok, so what i found out is if you use like a light-ish, not too heavy eyeliner, maybe in grey, and a dark gold eyeshadow, with black or brown mascara really makes green eyes pop. Also, make sure you're not wearing anything distracting elsewhere on your face, such as bright blush, or dark lipstick, cause these will draw attention away from your eyes. Almay's stuff works ok. Their mascara for green eyes in raisin quartz is terrible. But, the dark green in the eyeshadow trio is really pretty if your eyes are more of a yellow-y green. oh yeah, and covergirl lashblast mascara is a god-send. It doesn't clump, like ever, and gives my lashes like super great volume, so i usually don't even have to wear eyeliner on top
I'd suggest you use a colour that contrasts to the colour of your eyes. Which are either red or purple. You can try that, but because of the brown hair the colour might clash. You could try some of the Ana Sui mascara, she has it in a few colours. Or, you could try this make -up like...its called GOSH, its got quite alot of colours and is a bit on the expensive side ($12) but I think its worth it, I have on of them in bright green.
I have green eyes and brown hair like you, and what I use is black mascara and light green eyeliner (lighter than my eyes, almost like sea foam green) which really make my eyes pop.
In terms of eyeshadow, since you said you have a good tan, I would recommend a lighter color such as white to contrast the mascara.
I use Revlon , I think it's 5 shade and i want to say Mocca
bottom color is dark brown (real dark) and top is almost white.
Everything in between in the middle.
I have green eyes with brown hair ... I used the bottum for a liner. It comes with two applicators..tiny bit of water and add it. this trick also stops smudging like normal liner does.. then use the other shades as an accent.
Mascara depends truly on what I'm doing. I have really lush and really light but I tend to stick with anything that is non flaky.

then brown eyeshadow would look great. also you can use green, but keep it subtle. green is great for a daytime look, and brown gives you a smokier look, and that's a great nighttime look, like, if you're going out with friends or on a date, it would look great. And i recommend Almay,
i dont know if the set works because i have never heard of it, but here are some colors that will make your eyes pop. a spring green eyeshadow would be the start, but apply dark on the eyelid and lighter near the brow. loreal mascara is the best kind i think. and a coco brown or navy blue eyeliner would look nice. hope i helped, good luck !!! :)

ok, so what i found out is if you use like a light-ish, not too heavy eyeliner, maybe in grey, and a dark gold eyeshadow, with black or brown mascara really makes green eyes pop. Also, make sure you're not wearing anything distracting elsewhere on your face, such as bright blush, or dark lipstick, cause these will draw attention away from your eyes. Almay's stuff works ok. Their mascara for green eyes in raisin quartz is terrible. But, the dark green in the eyeshadow trio is really pretty if your eyes are more of a yellow-y green. oh yeah, and covergirl lashblast mascara is a god-send. It doesn't clump, like ever, and gives my lashes like super great volume, so i usually don't even have to wear eyeliner on top
I'd suggest you use a colour that contrasts to the colour of your eyes. Which are either red or purple. You can try that, but because of the brown hair the colour might clash. You could try some of the Ana Sui mascara, she has it in a few colours. Or, you could try this make -up like...its called GOSH, its got quite alot of colours and is a bit on the expensive side ($12) but I think its worth it, I have on of them in bright green.
I have green eyes and brown hair like you, and what I use is black mascara and light green eyeliner (lighter than my eyes, almost like sea foam green) which really make my eyes pop.
In terms of eyeshadow, since you said you have a good tan, I would recommend a lighter color such as white to contrast the mascara.
I use Revlon , I think it's 5 shade and i want to say Mocca
bottom color is dark brown (real dark) and top is almost white.
Everything in between in the middle.
I have green eyes with brown hair ... I used the bottum for a liner. It comes with two applicators..tiny bit of water and add it. this trick also stops smudging like normal liner does.. then use the other shades as an accent.
Mascara depends truly on what I'm doing. I have really lush and really light but I tend to stick with anything that is non flaky.

i dont know if the set works because i have never heard of it, but here are some colors that will make your eyes pop. a spring green eyeshadow would be the start, but apply dark on the eyelid and lighter near the brow. loreal mascara is the best kind i think. and a coco brown or navy blue eyeliner would look nice. hope i helped, good luck !!! :)

My dog got a hold of my mascara and chewed on it.

well, maybe yer rubbing yer eyes too much . or u could just go get some beteer quality makeup, i find that Jordana eyeliner and Maybelline define a lash mascara work well together and dont smudge easily .

put concealer under your eyes it works for me!

I wear only mascara nearly every day. The only time I put a touch of foundation and eye liner with a hint of lipstick, is when going out to dinner or a function. I also have very long eyelashes and have to use mascara sparingly, but wearing something to make your eyes stand out is great! Try new different mascara shades - blue, violet, dusty rose, forest green - they make your eyes stand out without the mess and reapplication of shadow.
No way if you don't need foundation don't wear it! I don't have very good skin but I still don't wear foundation coz it just makes it worse, is uncomfortable and it's really hard to find a foundation that looks good. Plus, you can't touch your face without it rubbing off :\

Mascara opens up the eye and makes you look awake, if there was one product I had to pick, it would be a great mascara.

It is totally Ok to just wear mascara. I do it all the time when I want a more casual look or I just don't have the time to do everything else. I like to use mascara and a little eye liner on the bottom of my eyes to make it subtle but still a little played up.

personally, i find that cover-girl professionals is the best. mine has got a circular brush. to bring out the full volume of your lashes, i'd recommend curling them, then applying two coats to the bottom of your lashes(top) and some to your lower lid lashes. then use a white or cream eyeliner at the corners of your eyes (close to the nose and ear) and black in the middle. hope that's helpful.

Inside are two different brushes- a microbrush to reach the corners of your eyes, and a big volume brush with hard bristles. The bristles help comb your lashes as you're applying. I've tried dozens of mascaras of all prices and brands and it is by far the best mascara I've ever used. It runs for $35.

I don't care if it's high end or drug store, I've tried so many kinds and haven't been that happy with them. How do you get mascara on the tiny lashes near your nose?

Use a tiny brush and a steady hand. As a makeup artist I routinely use a tiny brush (rather than the teddy bear brush that usually comes with mascara) to get these small lashes.
Also, if you don't have a smaller mascara specific brush, you can use a tiny makeup or paintbrush for this, since you are literally painting mascara on these lashes. This will not work though with older, drying out mascara. Toss the product as soon as you realize it is drying out on you.

I just recently ran out of my Diorshow, so I went to the drugstore and bought Rimmel's LashMaxxx. Its hard to change to a drugstore mascara after going through the Diorshow, but this mascara is pretty decent. Good luck!

What is the best mascara to curl lashes?
I have fairly long lashes but they are straight which really bugs me! I currently use eyelash curlers and maybelline great lash mascara and thats always worked a treat but after about an hour the effect wears off and my lashes go straight again so you can't tell i'm wearing mascara! Can anyone reccommend a really good (but not too expensive) mascara that will curl my lashes and hold the curl instread of my lashes going straight again after about an hour? The best ones Ive used (so far - im always looking for better ones) have been L'oreal Collagen mascara, and Max Factor Masterpiece Max.
The L'oreal one is great for volume and works great when you use a lash curler. If you have reaaalllllyyy small eyes or super short lashes I wouldnt reccomend this one as the brush is pretty huge lol.
The Masterpiece Max one doesnt give as much volume (although it gives a fair bit) but lengthens, separates and defines all the little lashes.

Often once you've dried, you've set in the stain. You may have to toss them.
The idea of cheap hairspray is a good one. It seems to be able to take out all sorts of things. I once cleaned my purse (it was cloth) iwth hairspray after an ink pen exploded in it. But I did that before it was washed and dried... It's worth a shot. What could happen? The pants are already ruined. Just check them before you dry them so you can do the treatment again if it worked but needs more. The more you dry, the more set the stain will be.

How do I prevent mascara from smudging throughout the day?
I use Maybelline Lash Exact or sometimes Cover Girl Lash Blast. I notice in the afternoon the mascara on my lower lashes sometimes smudges onto the skin under them.
