How can I wear mascara without making my eyelashs looking fake?

I have thick eyelashes which look fake if I put mascara on. I only put 2 coats on. Any advice?How can I wear mascara without making my eyelashs looking fake?
No mascara? Only one coat of mascara? If they're thick but pale try dyelash dye and then you can leave the mascara to those of us not quite so blessed.How can I wear mascara without making my eyelashs looking fake?
